Lessons and Coaching

Freediving coaching

Freediving, involves diving underwater without the use of breathing apparatus, relying on the diver's ability to hold their breath. A personalized training programs designed can help individuals improve their freediving skills, breath-holding abilities, and overall comfort and confidence in the water.

Freediving coaching aims to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore and improve their underwater capabilities, ultimately enabling them to enjoy the beauty of the ocean in a unique and immersive way.

Freediving coaching might involve:

Assessment, Goal Setting, Breath-Holding Techniques, Equalization Training, Safety Protocols, In-Water Training, Feedback and Analysis,

Physical Conditioning, Mental Preparation and Progress Tracking

AIDA 1

An entry-level program designed for individuals who are new to freediving or have minimal experience in the sport. The AIDA 1 course provides participants with fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for safe and enjoyable freediving experiences.

A significant portion of the course focuses on breathing and relaxation exercises. Students are taught how to improve breath-hold capacity and control, as well as how to achieve a state of relaxation underwater.

Students learn about equalization methods, which are crucial for descending and ascending safely.

Up to 10m

Duration 1 Theory Session plus 1/2 day in confined water

Includes: Digital education material, insurance and certification

Requirements: Minimum age 16 years old with guardian consent, be able to swim and have no medical contraindications

120€

Certification:

  • Successful completion of the AIDA 1 Freediving course results in a certification indicating that the participant has acquired the basic knowledge and skills necessary for safe recreational freediving.
  • This certification may serve as a foundation for those who wish to pursue more advanced freediving courses, such as AIDA 2.

AIDA 2

The AIDA 2 Freediving course is for the beginner freediver,  designed for individuals who have completed the AIDA 1 course or possess equivalent experience.

Theoretical sessions cover topics such as equalization techniques, advanced breathing exercises, and the physiology of freediving, students learn about the risks associated with freediving and how to manage them effectively.

Equalization techniques, such as the Frenzel maneuver, are refined to help students dive deeper.

The confined and open water sessions, allow students to apply their skills in a more realistic environment, diving in the ocean or another suitable body of water.

Students practice free immersion and constant weight freediving, building on their depth and comfort in open water.

We places a strong emphasis on safety. Students learn rescue techniques, both as the rescuer and the one being rescued, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of emergency procedures. Buddy communication and teamwork are stressed to create a safe freediving environment.

Up to 20m

Certification:

  • Successful completion of the AIDA 2 Freediving course results in a certification that acknowledges the diver's ability to freedive safely in a variety of environments.
  • This certification may also serve as a prerequisite for more advanced freediving courses, such as AIDA 3

AIDA 3

The AIDA 3 Freediving course is an intermediate level program designed for individuals who have completed the AIDA 2 course or possess equivalent freediving experience,

This course expands on the knowledge acquired in previous courses. Topics covered may include more advanced equalization techniques, breath-hold training methodologies, and deeper understanding of physiological and psychological aspects of freediving. Students delve into more complex topics related to pressure, gas laws, and their implications for deep freediving.

The course includes 4 open water sessions, allowing students to apply their skills in realistic environments. These sessions may involve diving in the ocean or another suitable body of water. A significant component of this course is focused on developing depth capabilities. Students may work on increasing their freediving depths, mastering proper equalization techniques, and managing the physiological challenges of deeper dives.

Students practice constant weight and free immersion techniques, working on diving to greater depths with an emphasis on safety and proper equalization. we will introduce more advanced equalization techniques, to enable divers to reach greater depths safely.
